During a wave of mass Polish immigration to Canada, the Polish Association ‘Sokol’ of St. Boniface was founded in 1928 by these immigrants who were in search of a better life in Canada. Members of the Association throughout its existence provided support to one another to integrate into Canadian society. They also formed close bonds and worked together to preserve Polish culture, traditions and language in Canada.
These same guiding principles continue to this day for the descendants of these immigrants, as well as for today’s newcomers from Poland. We proudly put on events, such as ‘Andrzejki’ and ‘Sylwestra’, that are rich with Polish culture, food and entertainment. Anyone who is interested in learning more about Sokol is welcome to join us at an event or attend one of our monthly meetings. Check our website, our Facebook page or ask one of our members for more information.
Sokol St. Boniface is located at 523 Doucet Street in Winnipeg. We also rent our hall to individuals and groups interested in hosting their own private parties and events. Please go to our “Hall Rentals” section for more information.
We would love to have you as a member of Sokol St Boniface. Serdecznie zapraszamy!
