Beginnings

The Sokol Hall was built in 1928 to help Polish immigrants establish themselves in Canada and maintain relations with their Polish heritage. The hall is located at 523 Doucet Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

One of the main assumptions was to maintain Polish culture and traditions, as well as help members of the organization in situations such as illnesses, accidents or difficult financial situations. The society also aimed to help new immigrants coming to Winnipeg settle, find work or housing.

Polish Gymnastic Society Sokol St. Boniface in Winnipeg is supported by funds collected during the organization of events such as New Year's Eve balls, St. Andrew's Day parties, Valentine's Day parties, harvest festivals and similar.
